Who's Actually Sailing?

Cordelia Cruises is the only premium cruise line operating the Mumbai–Goa route in 2026. Their ship, the Cordelia Empress, is a fully refurbished former Royal Caribbean vessel — India's flagship domestic cruise liner.

💡 Many websites still mention Angriya Cruise and Jalesh Cruise as options. Both have ceased operations. Their booking sites confirm this. Do not plan around them.

What's Included in Your Fare

  • Cabin accommodation for 2 nights
  • All buffet meals — breakfast, lunch, dinner, high tea, and midnight snacks
  • Main swimming pool access
  • Live theatre shows — Broadway-style, Bollywood nights, magic, comedy
  • DJ nights at The Dome nightclub
  • Fitness centre and gym
  • Cordelia Academy kids' activities
  • Rock climbing wall and arcade games
  • Outdoor movie screenings on deck
  • Reading zone and yoga sessions

What Costs Extra

  • Wi-Fi — ₹800–₹2,000 (your Indian SIM won't work at sea)
  • Alcohol and bar — ₹500–₹1,500 per person per day
  • Specialty restaurants — ₹1,500–₹3,000 per person
  • Spa treatments — ₹2,000–₹6,000 per session
  • Shore excursion in Goa — ₹1,500–₹4,000 per person
  • Gratuity — ~₹1,000 per person per day (charged onboard)
  • GST and port taxes — ₹1,500–₹3,000 added at checkout
A cruise priced at ₹35,000/person can realistically land at ₹45,000–₹50,000 once you add gratuity, drinks, Wi-Fi, and a shore excursion. Budget for this from day one.

Choosing Your Cabin

The cabin you pick shapes the entire experience. Here's how to choose wisely.

Interior Stateroom

₹25,794 – ₹42,990

Best for Budget

No window, twin beds, private bathroom. Compact but functional. If you plan to spend most time on deck, the pool, or at shows — you'll rarely be in here.

Balcony Cabin

₹50,000 – ₹65,000

Best for Special Occasions

Your own private outdoor space. Morning chai at sea. Watching the Goan coastline emerge from your balcony. This is the upgrade that creates decade-long memories.

Suite / Mini Suite

₹75,000 – ₹1,40,000

Best for Luxury

Separate bedroom and living area, private jacuzzi, priority boarding, dedicated concierge. For milestones and those who want absolutely everything.

What Actually Happens

Day 1

Mumbai · Departure

Boarding begins at 3:00 PM at MICT, Ballard Pier. Bring your booking confirmation and Aadhaar card — no passport required. The ship departs between 4:00–6:00 PM.

As Mumbai's harbour fades behind you — the Gateway of India, the lit Taj Mahal Palace — something remarkable happens. The city dissolves. The sea takes over. Welcome dinner, live entertainment, and a ship alive until midnight.

Day 2

At Sea · The Open Ocean

Wake to nothing but the Arabian Sea in every direction. Sunrise from the open deck is spectacular. The breakfast buffet alone — idli-dosa to continental eggs, parathas to pastries — sets the tone for the day.

Pool time, yoga sessions, cooking demonstrations, dance workshops, and kids' activities all run simultaneously. The Konkan coastline becomes faintly visible by afternoon. Sunset over the approaching Goa coast is extraordinary. Dinner, then the second night of entertainment. The ship arrives at Mormugao around midnight.

Day 3

Goa · Arrival

Mormugao Port, South Goa — typically 7:00–9:00 AM. The stop lasts approximately 8–10 hours.

⚠️ Passengers who wish to disembark in Goa typically need to pre-book a Cordelia shore excursion package. Confirm independent disembarkation directly with Cordelia at the time of booking.

Frequently Asked

Which cruise operates Mumbai–Goa in 2026?

Cordelia Cruises is the only premium option. Angriya Cruise and Jalesh Cruise are not operational.

Do I need a passport?

No. A valid Aadhaar card is sufficient for this domestic route. Passport is required only for international sailings.

Is food included?

Yes — all main buffet meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, high tea, midnight snacks) are included. Specialty restaurants, alcohol, and packaged drinks are charged separately.

Can I disembark independently in Goa?

Passengers typically need to pre-book a Cordelia shore excursion to disembark. Independent disembarkation depends on the specific sailing — confirm directly with Cordelia when booking.

What's the Wi-Fi situation?

Your Indian SIM will not work in international waters. Wi-Fi packages are available onboard for ₹800–₹2,000. If you're comfortable being offline for 2 nights, you don't need one.

How early should I arrive at the terminal?

Arrive at MICT at least 2–3 hours before departure. South Mumbai traffic can be unpredictable, especially during evening peak hours.

Is the cruise worth it compared to a flight?

That's the wrong question. The right one: do you want the journey itself to be part of the holiday? If yes, it's absolutely worth it. Nobody remembers their flight to Goa.

"Nobody remembers their flight to Goa. People remember watching Mumbai's skyline disappear."
